"FLORA AND FAUNA"
We were given the simple theme of “flora and fauna” in the arts guild. One of my favorite artists was inspired heavily by the interiors of traditional and new-age Spanish homes. I was inspired also by the patterns and designs of the plates on our home which made me incorporate the tiling of the two pieces. It’s a no-brainer to not include my partner in these pieces, it was inspired heavily by her figure sitting down with her two cats by her side, a bouquet of flowers, and other flowers and things surrounding her.
The tiles are very different things I like and random stuff I have put. In terms of colors, it’s more abstract and I just went on with what I think that will look good with the piece. It’s also a handmade canvas that we made during our workshop making it a lot more special for me. My taste and style are forever changing, and I’m proud that I created this piece with love. I think pieces are great to look at if it’s grounded in a lot of love. Was really excited about who’ll connect to these pieces.
